Therapeutic diet is an important way to fight gastritis. A gentle menu on meals helps reduce stomach stress and prevents irritation of its walls. The exact list of foods that can and should not be eaten depends on the type of disease and the characteristics of its course.
How to eat with gastritis?
In case of low acidity of gastric juice is important gastritis diet, which excludes mechanical irritation of the diseased mucosa and stimulates secretion, it is called Table 2.
There is also a dessert on the diet table for a sick stomach. The list of allowed sweets includes: marmalade, marshmallows, jellies, soups, puddings, unleavened cookies. If you are patient, you can pamper yourself with condensed milk or a spoonful of homemade ice cream.
What should be excluded from the diet during gastritis?
- Excess fat - fried foods, rich broth, pork fat, smoked meat;
- coarse fiber - raw vegetables, legumes, bran, nuts;
- Hot spices - mustard, ketchup, chicken, pepper, garlic and onion;
- High salt content - sausages, canned goods, handmade products, marinades;
- Baked goods - confectionery, cookies, any freshly made bread.
Due to difficult digestion, you should not eat fatty meats and fish, some grains (millet, corn, barley, pearl barley).
Soda, kvass, alcohol, strong tea and coffee are harmful for stomach disease. Hard boiled eggs are prohibited for any type of gastritis.
As for dairy products, it is not recommended to take yogurt, kefir, whey in case of high acidity. Small amounts of sour cream and cream are used in the dishes seasonally. Spicy and salty cheese are excluded from the menu.
What you can eat during the exacerbation of gastritis
Fasting is often shown on the first day of acute gastritis, but after 12-24 hours you should not refuse to eat. The first week is mainly light liquid food: vegetable soup purees, water-based porridges (oatmeal, rice).
With the aggravation of gastritis in 3-4 days of diet you can choose the following menu:
- jelly;
- steam omelet;
- mashed potatoes;
- Cottage cheese soup.
When you are relieved and the acute discomfort disappears, you can enjoy steamed meat and cutlets, white bread crackers, cooked pieces of lean meat and fish, biscuits. After about 2 weeks, meals are conducted according to the principle of diet No. 1 or No. 2.

- First Breakfast: 1 gently boiled chicken egg or 3-4 quail eggs, oatmeal (in case of tolerance you can eat with raisins), oily toast, a cup of tea 1-2 tablespoons
- Second Breakfast: A few cakes, a cup of thick apple jelly. Lunch: 1 bowl of vegetable soup, the other - fish cake with rice porridge as a side dish, dried compote.
- Afternoon Breakfast: Baked apples with cottage cheese, a cup of cocoa. Dinner: 2 Greek people with shredded meat (steamed), mashed potatoes, a slice of dried bread, a slice of lemon tea.
- Before going to bed: a glass of non-cold kefir (in case of gastritis with high gastric acidity, replace it with warm milk).
Gastric gastritis diet is based on approximately this menu. But the absence of unpleasant symptoms will be checked individually.
Discomfort or heaviness after eating can not be ignored. It is worth cutting portions, reviewing diets or recipes for individual dishes.
Menu for gastritis for a week
Recipes for gastritis diet are selected by gentle processing of food. Meat, fish and vegetable dishes are boiled and steamed. Baking is allowed, but not hard crust. Such feeding will probably take more than a week. Diet relieves stomach stress and helps to restore it.
Monday:
- 1 Breakfast: milk buckwheat porridge, poached egg on a slice of white bread yesterday, a portion of warm cocoa.
- 2 breakfasts: 2-3 steamed cheesecake, one cup of fruit compote. Lunch: Dinner potato soup, 2 pieces of chicken and carrot puree, a weak tea cup.
- Afternoon Breakfast: Pink rose decoration with dry biscuits.
- Dinner: fish meat (steamed), garnished with a slice of rice porridge, a slice of toast, not sour jelly.
- At night: a glass of kefir or milk.
Tuesday:
- 1 Breakfast: 150 g mashed sweet cottage cheese, oatmeal in a plate with milk, tea with a slice of lemon.
- 2 Breakfast: slice of omelet, a cup of cocoa. Lunch: a portion of chicken soup with lentils, zucchini boiled in sour cream, 1-2 slices of yesterday's bread, homemade fruit jelly.
- Afternoon breakfast: milk jelly, 3-4 croutons.
- Dinner: Greek people with minced meat (steamed), 100 g of carrot puree, one cup of weak tea.
- At night: Wild rose vitamin broth, a few unleavened cookies.
Wednesday:
- 1 Breakfast: Boiled soft boiled eggs, a good portion of semolina, toast with butter and a slice of cheese (soft and unsalted), tea with milk.

- Afternoon snacks: cocoa, steamed omelet.
- Dinner: 200 g of potato casserole with grated meat, beet salad with vegetable oil, berry jelly (with high acidity during gastritis, replace, for example, milk).
- At night: a glass of rose broth, 3 crackers.
Sunday:
- 1 Breakfast: semolina, scrambled eggs, toast, cocoa.
- 2 Breakfast: A portion of jelly fish. Lunch: pumpkin puree soup, meat and onion, a slice of toast, compote.
- Afternoon Breakfast: Rose broth and some crackers.
- Dinner: noodles with cottage cheese (you can serve with jam), tea with cream, a few dry cookies.
- At night: a glass of non-acidic kefir.
Above is the approximate weekly menu for people with gastritis. Any diet for gastritis should be agreed with the attending gastroenterologist. Note the individual intolerance to individual products, the patient's allergic reactions, and other medical history.
Several diet recipes
Steamed fish cutlets.
Dietary recipes for gastritis include the use of lean fish. It is useful to eat fur, cod, pollock at least 2-3 times a week. You can buy ready-made fillets. Otherwise, it is necessary to cut the carcass of the fish.
- 200 g fish fillet;
- 50 g white bread pulp;
- 3 tablespoons milk;
- 1 egg white;
- 15 g butter;
- Salt to a minimum.
Mix the soaked pulp in the milk into the fish fillet. Add salt to the mass, roll twice in a meat grinder. Add protein to the mince, mix well. Lay out small patties and steam. Pour melted butter before serving.
Steamed omelette.
Quail eggs are an excellent alternative to omelet eggs. They are considered very beneficial and also turn out to be more delicate.
- 10 quail eggs;
- 3-4 tablespoons milk;
- 2 teaspoons flour;
- pinch of salt;
- vegetable oil (for shaped lubricants).
Whisk a few times and mix the eggs. All other ingredients except oil are added to them. Many recipes for gastritis allow the use of finely chopped herbs, so dill can be smelled. The mass is slightly whipped and poured into a greased form, boil in a steam bath.
Baked apples with cottage cheese.
This recipe is suitable even for those who have acute gastritis. In case of disease, especially in the first weeks, the list of allowed fruits is small. Usually it is baked bananas and apples. Dessert is easy to digest and contains pectin, which improves digestion.
- 3-4 apples;
- 100 g low-fat cottage cheese;
- 1 egg yolk;
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar;
- 10 g of starch.
Wash the fruit well, arrange the heads on top in the form of "lids". Using a small spoon, gently remove the seeds and part of the pulp in a circle. The apple should have walls of at least 1 cm.
In a filling blender, mix cottage cheese with powdered sugar, heart and starch. If present, add vanilla sugar. Fold the apples tightly into the sweet mass and lay out the form on the pages. In the oven, pre-heated to 200 degrees, the dessert should be held for 20-25 minutes. Putting a little water on the bottom of the baking sheet will make the baked apples softer.
